Catalog
Plan
A named, purchasable package of prices and entitlements. The thing a customer subscribes to.
A plan is what a customer buys: a name, one or more prices, and the entitlements that come with it.
Plans need versioning, because pricing changes and existing subscribers usually keep the terms they signed up on. That means a plan is not a row that gets edited; it is a lineage of price versions, with live subscriptions pinned to the one they were sold.
A catalog that cannot express “Growth, as it was priced in March 2025, for the 40 customers still on it” will force a migration every time you reprice.
