Account updater
A card network service that supplies updated card details when a stored card is reissued, expired or replaced.
Account updater services, run by Visa and Mastercard, push updated credentials for stored cards when a card is reissued after expiry, loss or a fraud event.
For a subscription business this is one of the highest-return integrations available, because it prevents involuntary churn rather than recovering from it. A card replaced silently by an issuer would otherwise fail at the next renewal with no signal to either party.
Coverage is not complete: not every issuer participates, and updates can lag. It reduces the size of the dunning problem, it does not remove it.
